《china·瓷》從一次展覽出發，講述中國外銷瓷，特別是明清之際與整個世界接觸與相互影響的故事。探討瓷器在世界歷史中扮演的角色，西方世界如何將中國瓷納入自身的社會生活藝術、宗教、政治和經濟之中。中國瓷稱霸天下，明清之際的三個世紀共有三億件中國瓷器在歐洲登岸，鄰近的日本、韓國和東南亞更是大量進口。行銷全球數量之巨，遍佈之廣，充分證明某種打破疆域、世界級的文化接觸之存在。瓷器不但集工藝、美學、商貿之大成，更是在東西美學的相互影響之下的第一件全球化商品。本片既關注文物細節，又聚焦全球主題：瓷做為第一件全球化商品如何將世界相聯。
第一集（上集）：青花瓷的故事 Episode I: Blue & White
通過深入挖掘景德鎮產青花瓷所蘊含的歷史文化資訊，以國際化視角，展示了瓷器對於東西方文化交融與經濟往來所起到的重要作用。外銷瓷，這種不同於中國人記憶中的瓷器樣式，其背後有著怎樣的故事？它所聯繫的東西方貿易鏈條，對世界經濟帶來了怎樣的影響？本集著眼于外銷青花瓷的寰宇之旅，呈現發生在800年前的中國與世界的故事。
第二集（下集）：為瓷瘋狂 Episode II: China Fever
自16世紀初中國外銷瓷傳入，歐洲人就對此格外狂熱與癡迷。在歐洲瓷器發展的歷史每一步中，都有個人意志的極致追求與不懈嘗試，從而促進了歐洲制瓷業的發展與超越。意大利的美第奇大公，普魯士的奧古斯都皇帝、法國國王路易十四和傳教士殷弘緒、英國女王瑪麗二世、美國青年德瑞克……他們以自己的方式表達著對瓷的情感，演繹著動人的故事。
