文房四寶即筆、墨、紙、硯，是中國獨有的書畫工具，也是中國古代傳統文化的象徵。從毛筆到硬筆再到鍵盤無紙化，隨著一個書寫時代的結束，筆墨紙硯似乎遠離了現代人的生活。但事實上，它們從未消失，匠人們始終守護著祖輩傳承的手工技藝，並嘗試回歸。
節目分為四集，分別走進湖筆的故鄉湖州市善璉鎮、胡開文墨廠的保密車間、安微宣紙和竹紙的製作工坊以及知名歙硯店鋪，揭秘這些傑出工藝的製作流程，發掘它們的豐富內涵。探究為何文房四寶仍能在當代社會立足，並展示中國傳統文化的格調與精神。
Stick to the Tradition - Four Treasures of the Study
The four treasures of the study - writing brushes, ink sticks, paper, and ink stones are China’s unique painting and calligraphy tools, and is a symbol of ancient Chinese traditional culture. From the brushes to hard pens and then to the paperless keyboard, with the extinction of a particular writing manner, the four treasures seem to be disappeared in modern life. However, in fact, they never did. The craftsmen have guarded these ancestral heritages for so long and always try to make them rise again.
The program includes four episodes. The crew goes into the hometown of “Hu Bi” (a kind of writing brush), the Hu Kaiwen ink factory’s confidential workshop, the machinery room of “Xuan Zhi” and “Zhu Zhi” (two kinds of paper), and a well-known ink stone store respectively to reveal the production process of the outstanding craft. This program explores why the four treasures can still own a place in contemporary society and illustrates the sprit and essence of traditional Chinese culture.
