China Marine Database, whose data is gathered from the National Marine Bureau, reflects the development of Chinese Marine economy and Marine management services. It covers the data of more than 10 coastal areas, 50 coastal cities, more than 50 costal ports and four marine areas. The main contents include accounting of marine economy, major ocean industries, major ocean industries production capacity, the marine related employment, marine science and technology, marine education, marine environmental protection, marine administrative management, and the public service. Researchers may find helpful when studying the development, management and utilization of marine resources and spaces, exploring the law of ocean economy, and speeding up the marine economy structure adjustment, promoting the change of ocean economy development mode in order to realize the development of steady marine economy. The data is annually updated since 1978.
